Owners of Downtown Buckeye BusinessScrews and SparklesSpeak at Rotary|
| Sophia and J R Martinez, owners of Screws and Sparkles were introduced by Todd Halberg. J R recently joined Sophia in the business, a venture she started in her home a number of years ago. The concept came to Sophia when she was trying to run a business while taking care of children while J R was busy working construction. The primary hurdle to success was having a place to sell the merchandise, where she didn't have to be there full time or share a large share of the fruits of her labors. After experiencing some of the typical fits and starts of being an entrepreneur, Sophia realized her dream of having a place of her own. From that modest beginning Screws and Sprinkles has grown to the point it now occupies 9,000 square feet in a downtown Buckeye building and has a waiting list of vendors. J R and Sophia represent the greatness of the American spirit of individual and economic freedom. They saw something others hadn't seen and never lost sight of that vision. |
