Recent Meeting Recap

Last week, our meeting was filled with enjoyable moments — catching up on travels, sharing stories from summer adventures, and enjoying Don's raffle, Ed's Happy Bucks, and a few classic Dad Jokes. Before we knew it, the meeting had come to a close.

About Rotary: Quick Facts

For both newcomers and longtime members, here are some important details about Rotary:

  • The Rotary Club of Verrado was chartered on September 18, 2018.
  • Our first three presidents were Carl Goin, Dick Crichton, and David Faragher.
  • Since its founding, our club and the Verrado Rotary Foundation (VRF) have donated over $250,000 to local charities and facilitated donations of tens of thousands of dollars in hospital equipment.
  • The Verrado Rotary Foundation was established by club members as the charitable arm of our service initiatives. VRF board members are elected by Rotary Club members.
  • Verrado Rotary is part of a global network, with about 32,000 clubs in 170 countries and approximately 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide.
  • Rotary International’s Foundation set the goal to eradicate polio in 1985 and remains at the forefront of this effort. In 1988, there were 350,000 cases of wild polio in 125 countries; today, only a handful of cases remain in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
  • Our club is part of Rotary District 5495, which includes approximately 70 clubs serving all of Arizona north of the Gila River.

Member Involvement

Rotary thrives because of active, engaged members. Whether you’re proposing projects, helping with fundraising, raising community awareness, inviting guests and prospective members, or participating in Rotary activities, your contributions matter. Whether you joined as a charter member or last week, your involvement and input are always welcome.
