Our guest speaker last week was former sports anchor and Congressman from Arizona, J. D. Hayworth Jr. JD spoke to us of his experiences in college football after being recruited by Coach Lou Holtz and how the college football is in a chaotic state of change. He spoke about his experiences on the campaign trail, some of the characters he knew in Congress and life as a sports anchor and consultant. After hearing from Mr. Hayworth, we were pleased to welcome our newest member, Jamison Kaufman, very ably introduced by Lisa Hassenger. Jamison introduced herself and thanked the 12 Rotarians who showed up at her cocktail hour at the West Rose Tasting Room last week. Her exhibit there continues through the month. Jamison has a rich Rotary history having been a member of several clubs and the past president of one, an Assistant District Governor and Rotarian of the Year. She was very actively involved in a Rotary Global grant in Nigeria, funding the creation of blood banks around the country. We are happy that Jamison chose Verrado for her new Rotary home.
