He emphasized the enduring nature of terrorist ideologies and underscored the nation's strategy to thwart their territorial ambitions. Colonel Szody highlighted the evolving landscape of modern warfare, where technological advancements have leveled the playing field between state and non-state entities, prompting significant shifts in the Department of Defense's combat strategies. He also shed light on the recent surge in hostilities in the Middle East, noting that American forces have sustained over 200 attacks following the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel from Gaza.
