The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a scholarship to Madee Guy, a Verrado High School senior and dedicated member of the Buckeye Youth Council. Madee was recognized for her outstanding leadership, community involvement, and academic achievements, making her a standout role model among her peers. She was also lauded for her project of packing boxes for members of the armed services serving away from home. Additionally, the club welcomed Sara Silver, Assistant to the City Council for the City of Buckeye, who also serves as the head of the Buckeye Youth Council. Silver provided an insightful overview of the council's initiatives, programs, and impact on local youth. She highlighted the council's mission to cultivate leadership skills, encourage civic engagement, and empower young individuals to contribute meaningfully to their community. The meeting reinforced the club’s commitment to supporting youth development and fostering a strong community through education and mentorship. Members expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations with the Buckeye Youth Council, aiming to provide more opportunities for young leaders like Madee to thrive.
