LAST WEEKLeslie Ragan (c) with her husband, Spencer and President Elect Elect Holly Our speaker last week was Leslie Ragnar and her topic was "Providing Wigs for Cancer Patients". Leslie runs Ebeauty. EBeauty Community is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit with a mission to improve the quality of life for women undergoing treatment for cancer, alopecia and other medically related hair loss. For 11 years EBeauty has run the only national wig exchange program in the United States, and women or their families can donate gently used wigs to EBeauty to be cleaned and styled by Paul Mitchell Schools around the country. Individuals and hospitals may also request wigs for patients in need. Recently, EBeauty moved their warehouse from Washington D.C to Buckeye Arizona to open the first EBeauty House. The EBeauty House is a place for the local community to gather and volunteer their time nurturing a sense of community, and a place where local cancer patients can come and feel comfortable trying on wigs. Ebeauty needs volunteers. Typically, volunteer shifts run 2 hours. You can volunteer once or on a regular basis.
