Verrado Rotary Welcomes Local Nonprofit Leader
Last week, the Verrado Rotary Club welcomed Patricia Plum, President and Founder of A Place for Hannah, a fast‑growing Arizona nonprofit dedicated to supporting previously incarcerated women and justice‑impacted youth.
Founded in 2022, A Place for Hannah is built on more than 30 years of combined behavioral‑health experience and focuses on mental‑health education, reentry support, and community reintegration. Its mission is to create bright, stable futures for previously incarcerated women and justice‑impacted youth in Arizona, helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and practical support both during incarceration and after release.
The organization provides experiential mental‑health classes inside women’s prisons and juvenile facilities, covering topics such as trauma, communication, grief, boundaries, emotional regulation, and healthy decision‑making. Participants are also encouraged to engage in meaningful service projects—such as hair‑donation drives and cancer‑walk support—to reconnect with a sense of purpose and community.
Through reentry and discharge planning, community reintegration efforts, and youth mental‑health education, A Place for Hannah has already seen early success in helping women transition back to productive lives, reducing recidivism and supporting lasting positive change.
