Success Coach and Author Inspires with Programs for Children
Last week the Club had an inspiring presentation by Mara Williams, renowned Success Coach and Author, who is championing financial literacy and entrepreneurial education for children—a crucial area where traditional schools often fall short. Mara shared her innovative series designed to educate young minds in business and entrepreneurship, equipping them with practical tools to thrive in the real world. Her work aims to fill the gap in financial literacy education, fostering a generation of capable and confident young entrepreneurs. During the presentation, Mara acknowledged the impactful initiative by Rotarian Deb Burton, whose Farmer’s Market program has already made waves in the community. Deb’s program targets children between the ages of 6 and 11, teaching them the fundamentals of developing a product, setting a price, and selling it at a Farmer’s Market. This hands-on approach not only introduces business basics but also allows children to experience entrepreneurship firsthand. A highlight of the event was the success story of young Santiago Diaz, who participated in Deb’s Farmer’s Market program. Santiago demonstrated remarkable determination and enthusiasm by waking up early to join the meeting and share his experience. He is a shining example of the positive impact of these programs, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit that Mara and Deb seek to inspire in children everywhere. Mara Williams’ presentation, paired with Deb Burton’s practical program, is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in shaping the future of our youth. Thank you, Santiago, for reminding us of the boundless potential of young minds when given the right opportunities!
