Recognition of Paul Harris Fellows
From left: Kathy Rossetti, Angelo Rossetti, President Holly
During a special segment of the meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing three members, George Cannelos, Angelo Rossetti, and Kathy Rossetti, who have attained the prestigious status of Paul Harris Fellows. This recognition is awarded to those who have made significant contributions to the Rotary Foundation, demonstrating a strong commitment to the ideals of Rotary. Each of the honorees received their certificates and pins presented by past President David Faragher, and their dedication was celebrated with a round of applause and words of appreciation from fellow members.
Review of 25/26 Project Funding Requests
The meeting also included a thorough review of the Project Funding requests for the fiscal year 2025-2026. Various project proposals were presented, each outlining the goals, expected outcomes, and required resources. Members engaged in a lively discussion, evaluating the potential impact and feasibility of each project, and then provided their ratings and comments on each. The review process emphasized our commitment to supporting initiatives that align with our mission and values, and decisions will be made in the coming weeks on which projects to fund.
Rotary Week of Service Project A Big Success
Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Verrado, White Tanks in Verrado, Buckeye and Goodyear Pebble Creek gathered on Saturday, April 26 for a painting and cleaning project at the All Faith Community Services Food Bank. Many hands made light work of brightening the walls and a great time was enjoyed by all. Thanks to David Faragher for arranging this event.
Behind the Scenes: Rotary Club of Verrado
In every successful organization, there are individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. The Rotary Club of Verrado is no exception, and we are fortunate to have three remarkable members whose dedication and efforts make our weekly meetings a resounding success.
Ed Williams
Ed Williams, our Sergeant at Arms, leads us through our weekly "Happy Bucks" segment with a wry wit and sense of humor. "Happy Bucks" is a part of the meeting that no one wants to miss, as it brings joy to all attendees. The funds raised through this initiative help keep our dues low and support meaningful projects such as the park bench and table at Treehouse Park.
David Faragher
David Faragher is always there early every week, expertly managing our audio visual needs. He handles last-minute media deliveries and sets up Zoom access with exceptional skill and calm. In addition to these tasks, David serves as the Club’s Secretary, exemplifying quiet and competent leadership that ensures smooth and successful meetings.
Don Ester
Don Ester, a member of the Club’s board, is actively involved in most club activities. Every week, Don diligently sets up and takes down the meeting room tables and chairs, brings coffee and refreshments (most of which he has donated), and coordinates the donation of doughnuts and other snacks. In his spare time, he cheerfully runs the weekly raffle, adding an extra touch of fun to our gatherings.
Thank you to Ed, David, and Don for your invaluable contributions. Your efforts play a crucial role in making the Rotary Club of Verrado a success.
