Mirna's Place

Mirna Tomsic is the founder of Mirna’s Place, a nonprofit organization started in 2016 in Buckeye, Arizona. She believes in helping others by seeing a need and taking action. After retiring in 2015, Mirna chose to dedicate her time to serving families and organizations in Buckeye and the surrounding West Valley communities. Through Mirna’s Place, she connects businesses, schools, and community partners with people who need food, supplies, and support. With the help of volunteers and strong partnerships, Mirna brings hope, kindness, and help to those in need, always leading with compassion and a heart to serve. Mirna’s Place was founded in 2016 in Buckeye, Arizona, with a simple mission: Seeing the Need, Taking the Lead. What began as one person helping families in need grew into a community nonprofit focused on connecting resources to people who need them most. Over the years, Mirna’s Place has distributed food, household items, school supplies, toys, and other essentials to families, schools, veterans, and partner organizations across Buckeye and the West Valley. Through partnerships with Amazon and Midwest Food Bank, along with many local businesses and volunteers, millions of pounds of donations have been redirected back into the community. Today, Mirna’s Place operates from a larger warehouse, allowing us to serve more people efficiently and with dignity. Our work continues to focus on meeting real needs, building strong partnerships, and supporting our community—one family and one box at a time.
