President's Message

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Verrado.  Thank you for taking a few minutes to visit us here.
I have the honor and privilege of serving this Club as our 6th President. Our meetings are full of lively interaction, fun and great programs designed to keep us informed about our local community and the world around us.

Our Club is a relatively new entrant in the world of Rotary having been founded in 2018, much like our community of Verrado and surrounding neighborhoods are new to the fabric of the City of Buckeye – not too long ago a small farm town with a long history and now an emerging larger city which is amongst the fastest growing in the nation.  Our goal is to follow Buckeye’s lead in keeping that small town feel where people know and rely on each other while embracing our new neighbors as they arrive and helping them to meet people and learn how they can embrace and serve their new home. Our club participates in many both local and international causes, financially and as volunteers.

At our weekly meetings we discuss topics relevant to our efforts and typically feature key-note speakers to present and share their ideas. Whether you're an active Rotarian, a prospective speaker, or just an interested individual, I hope to see you soon. To learn more about what it means to be a member of our great community, I invite you to attend one of our meetings. We meet every Tuesday morning at Victory Hall at the Victory Club in Verrado (5325 N Verrado Way) at 7am (Click HERE for directions).    If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Rotary Club of Verrado and Verrado Rotary Foundation Present $100,000 to All Faith Community Services Food Bank

April 28, 2026 — Buckeye, Arizona

Holly Nott, President of the Rotary Club of Verrado, and Doug Bredow, President of the Verrado Rotary Foundation, presented a $100,000 donation to the All Faith Community Services (AFCS) Food Bank during the Rotary Club meeting on April 28, 2026.

Accepting the donation on behalf of AFCS was President Laura Colantoni, who shared her background with the organization and highlighted improvements made over the past three years with support from Rotary grants and other community partners.

  • Updating and repairing the 1914-era building that houses AFCS
  • Implementing new software and network equipment
  • Purchasing a pallet jack
  • Repairing and upgrading trucks and other equipment
  • Digitizing paper records
  • Adding a once-a-month bulk distribution
  • Upgrading and implementing a new pricing model for the thrift store

“We are grateful to the Rotary Club for its support of AFCS. Without this support, many of these improvements—and our increased outreach to the community—would not have been possible,” Colantoni said.

Gathering Buckeye III - A Night in Italia

Bredow said support of the AFCS Food Bank is a core mission of the Rotary Club of Verrado and the Verrado Rotary Foundation. He noted that much of the donated funding was raised through the annual Gathering Buckeye Charitable Gala, launched in 2024. Gathering Buckeye III — An Evening in Italia — was held on April 11, 2026, and was made possible by sponsors, volunteers, and community members who donated, purchased tickets, participated in the auction, and attended.

6th Annual Top Golf Event Held on November 22

A great time was had by all at the successful 6th Annual Top Golf Drive Fore Charity.  Once again, VRF President Doug Bredow put together an event which was fun for all concerned and raised money, 100% of which will be donated in our local community.  Doug will provide details in the days ahead, but in the meantime here are a few photos.  Good work, Doug.

Speakers
Joe Tracey, Youth4Youth Program Director
Jun 16, 2026
The Way Out West Coalition
Joe Tracey is the Program Director for Youth4Youth and the Way Out West Coalition, serving Buckeye and the greater West Valley. His work focuses on youth leadership, substance use prevention, resilience, and community collaboration. Joe works closely with schools, students, parents, law enforcement, city partners, and local organizations to create programs that are practical, youth-centered, and responsive to the needs of the community.

Joe will share the story and impact of Youth4Youth in Buckeye, including how student leaders are using their voices to influence their peers, strengthen campus culture, and promote healthy choices. The presentation will also include the history of the Way Out West Coalition and how the coalition has brought community partners together to address substance use prevention across Buckeye and the West Valley.

In addition, Joe will provide a brief but important look at the influence of social media on youth, including how online platforms can expose young people to unrealistic expectations, dangerous trends, and curated snapshots that do not show the full reality of a person’s life. The presentation will also address how social media has created new ways for drug dealers to access and target youth. The goal is to increase awareness, highlight local prevention efforts, and show how community members can play a role in helping youth stay safe, connected, and supported.
